IRS letter

Check out this letter to the IRS. Glenn Beck read this on his show the other day.

"Dear IRS, I'm sorry to inform you that I'm not going to be able to pay the taxes owed on April 15th, but all is not lost. I paid these taxes, accounts receivable tax, building permit tax, CDL tax, corporate income tax, dog license tax, federal income tax, unemployment tax, gas tax, hunting license tax, fishing license tax, waterfowl stamp tax, inheritance tax, inventory tax, liquor tax, luxury tax, Medicare tax, city tax, school and county property tax up to 33% the last four years. Real estate tax, Social Security tax, road use tax, toll road tax, state and city sales tax, recreational vehicle tax, sales franchise tax, state unemployment tax, federal excise tax, telephone tax, telephone federal state and local surcharge tax, telephone minimum usage surcharge tax, telephone state and local tax, utility tax, vehicle tax, registration tax, capital gains tax, lease severance tax, oil and gas assessment tax, Colorado property tax, Texas, Colorado, Wyoming, Oklahoma, Mexico sales tax and many more I can't recall and I've run out of space and money. When you do not receive my check April 15th, just know that it was an honest mistake. Please treat me the same as the way you've treated Congressman Charlie Rangel, Chris Dodd, Barney Frank, ex-congressman Tom Daschle and, of course, your boss, Timothy Geithner. No penalties, no interest. PS, I'll make at least a partial payment as soon as I get my stimulus check. Ed Barnett, Wichita Falls.

is nothing sacred?

It's a sad day today as Obama signed an order to lift restrictions on federal funding for embryonic stem cell research. I believe this is only the beginning to what we will see in the future from this administration and it's complete disregard for human life.
Several years ago, before most people had even heard of Barack Obama I spoke about him to a class of college kids. He is fiercely pro abortion and supports things, such as partial birth abortion and live birth abortion, that even some of his liberal friends do not support.
The part of the stem cell issue that is even more frustrating is that there have been no serious findings that state that embryonic stem cells are more powerful than adult stem cells. In fact, the data shows just the opposite. Check out the score card here.

Fox Dynamics Poll

Check out the latest Fox Dynamics Poll Results - Specifically #32 - 37.  It's a sad, sad time!  This is not what America stands for.

Here we go...

"As if the rate changes weren’t enough, Obama also proposes punishing the rich by stopping the scheduled repeal of the controversial estate tax next year. The president suggests imposing a 45 percent tax rate on any family’s estate worth more than $7 million.
The Obama tax hikes also include new restrictions on itemized deductions for families that earn more than $250,000 per year. Deductions for things like charitable donations, mortgage interest and investment expenses will be capped at 28 percent for the wealthiest taxpayers, some 30 percent less than they currently get."

After having just had my yearly taxes done, I'm confident I am paying more than my fair share of income tax and I can only imagine how anyone in a higher tax bracket than me is feeling. Especially with the newly proposed tax hikes by Obama.  What a great way to stimulate the economy... take even more of the money from the people who can actually help create jobs, donate to charity and insert cash flow into the system. I am not a worrier, but I have an ever increasing concern about where this administration will take our country in the next four years.

Beautiful

I saw this video on a friends' facebook page and just had to share it with everyone. It is such a beautiful testimony of how amazing God's love is.

rejoice!

It seems these days there is so much doom and gloom, I am so thankful to have so much to cherrish. Typically this time of year I tend to get a little depressed, but not this year. So far 2009 is my year! I have had lots of great opportunities and personal challenges over the past few months and things are finally starting to come together. This week alone I have had some great things happen (work related), which can't be fully disclosed yet, but things that are very rewarding and affirming for me, just when I really needed it.
This year Paul and I will celebrate our 10th wedding anniversay. I am so blessed to have been able to spend nearly 15 years of my life with him by my side. I couldn't think of my life any other way. He is my rock, my biggest supporter, the best encourager, the one who challenges me to always be better and the love of my life. Thanks sweetie, I love you!

not too shabby

Recently, I have been trying to aquire the taste for regular coffee. It's just something I have never really cared for, so bitter and all, but when watching caloric intake, a grande chai latte from Starbucks just doesn't work into the mix too well. So, my beloved husband has been trying to help me out and get all kinds of flavored coffee to help me "get started."
Well, not too much was working until I tasted this beautiful creation ~ Italian Sweet Creme Creamer from CoffeeMate. Yummy!
I know it has 30 cals per serving but that's so much better that 300!
So, thank you Coffee Mate, you saved me! :)

who do you love?

Paul and I get a lot of grief from people when they find out that we don't do Santa at our house. Apparently there is nothing else special about Christmas if there is no Santa... We are not evil, mean people, it's just the way we do it. (We are working on reminding Jaden that other kids do believe, so sorry if he has said anything to your child)
Anyway, I wanted to share this sweet photo with you, to really get into the Santa Spirit of Christmas ;) (read carefully)

p.s. No, we do not equate SaNta to SataN - just to clarify
